I tested the latest Smart Gesture on Chrome and Firefox, and both have the zoom issue. I think it is indeed a bug, it should stop sending touchpad actions. I would like to know how is this handle in laptops from other brands. When I scroll with the touchpad, there is some ‘momentum’ in which it continues scrolling for a bit after I remove my fingers from the touchpad, then slows and stops.
Do drivers automatically install?
Windows itself includes drivers, and new drivers can be automatically downloaded from Windows Update. Some components also have standard, “generic” drivers. For example, when you connect a USB drive to your PC, Windows uses standard USB mass storage device drivers.
After upgrading to Windows 10 everything was fine for 2-3 months, but 3 days ago scrolling on the touchpad stopped working. I’ve uninstalled the ATK and old version of Smart Gesture as per your instructions and have re-installed ATK 1.0.0041 and Smart Gesture 4.0.12. I have a big problem with my touchpad , unfortunately is not working. My laptop and my touchpad was fully working but yesterday my touchpad was off.
I Googled my problem and had numerous returns. Unfortunately for me I did Brother hl-l2340dw driver not get to your site for a day and a half!
- Of course, that requires internet connectivity on your computer.
- Security and system stability are two of the many reasons for updating drivers on your Windows 10 computer regularly.
- Most drivers are installed automatically the moment you connect a hardware device like a flash drive or printer.
- The majority of such updates happen automatically, but due to a variety of factors, the drivers may not be updating as they should be.
- Thankfully, there are a couple of ways to update drivers on Windows 10 computers, and we have compiled some of the best practices.

If I had, my problem would have been solved within 20 minutes. All I can say is the biggest THANK YOU for your easy to understand, very straight forward way, in which you explained what to do and how to do it. I would readily recommend everyone with similar problems to visit this site. Sam, it’s been ten months so hopefully you’re solved your problem by now. The fix I found was to install an AutoHotKey script that runs on startup and disables CTRL+zoom in all applications.
Alireza, in the ASUS Smart Gesture settings you need to check the option “Activate”. Eventually I found my way here and removed the Elan driver. MS was kind enough to share which conflicts with Smart Gesture.
After that I reinstall ATK Package and Smart Gesture but the touchpad is not working. The Asus touchpad is not listed in Device manager. If you see this icon in the notification area, press fn+F9 to enable/disable the touchpad. I have tried ASUS tech support, but have not heard back from them.
Salah, other users with the ASUS TP300L had the same issue. Install the latest ATK Package, and then press Fn+F9 to enable the touchpad. I can double click to display the application – but the mouse pointer dies.
